It is none other than Canelo Alvarez who recently beat John Ryder via unanimous decision in his homecoming fight. Conor McGregor has called out Canelo Alvarez numerous times. Alvarez’s promoter Eddie Hearn recently opened up about the possibility of a fight between the Mexican and ‘the notorious’.

Eddie Hearn believes Alvarez would consider it for a “lot of money”

In an interview with Behind The Gloves, Hearn was asked about McGregor calling out the reigning undisputed middleweight champion. After the John Ryder fight, the Dublin hard-hitter has made a lot of callouts targeted at the 32-year-old for a potential boxing fight between the two. And the promoter has finally opened up about the callouts.

Hearn responded to McGregor’s claim that he would beat Alvarez with one hand. He said, “To me, Conor said he needs no hands to beat him.” He further shared an anecdote from McGregor’s interview back in Dublin. Quoting McGregor, Hearn added, “I saw Ryder and Saunders am a southpaw as well, and I will smash Canelo.”

The Matchroom Boxing chief did not deny that this fight is a “massive” prospect. When asked if Alvarez would consider such a fight, Hearn responded, saying, “He is a champion. He’s a proud champion. Listen if someone presents an offer to you. And, if you want to be involved in something fun for a lot of money, He would consider it.” It seems like this fight is not off the table. But Hearn clarified that this potential fight is not what the champion thinks about, as Alvarez has other options in mind.

Canelo Alvarez is one of the best pound-for-pound boxing champions. And the world is eager to know who he will fight after his Ryder win. It is not a secret that Alvarez wants a rematch with Dmitry Bivol. But, this fight was not sanctioned. So it is unclear who the champion will fight next. But one name which comes to light is David Benavidez, who is eager to get his hands on Alvarez’s titles.
