The UFC 269 championship event witnessed a massive upset. Julianna Pena, the challenger, registered a spectacular win by submitting the champion and the pre-fight favorite Amanda Nunes in the second round. This gave overnight recognition to ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’. After an exciting contest that created a buzz among combat sports fans, the UFC has decided on another contest between the duo stars under different circumstances.

This time Pena would defend her title for the first time against the challenger from whom she had clinched the belt. Her corner would also see some big names cheering for her. One of them is the former two-time heavyweight champ, Mike Tyson.

It’s pretty clear at this point that UFC 277 on the coming weekend would provide an exciting action-packed contest. The rivalry and grudge between the two has doubled since their first clash. Nunes was looking for an opponent who could strike like her for a long time. Now she got one in the form of Pena, who forced her to submit after intense back-and-forth in the first matchup.

It was Nunes’ first defeat in the last 12 fights. She was on a winning streak for the last seven years.
