Canelo played a game of ‘This or That’ in the buildup to the fight and had some interesting choices. One of the most significant of the lot was his first one.
The Mexican chose Conor McGregor over fellow Hispanic Jorge Masvidal. Interestingly, Masvidal has been open about his desire to fight the Mexican. However, given his choice, it’s possible that Canelo does not rate the UFC star as highly as the latter would like.

McGregor enjoys the limelight and does not shy away from speaking his mind. He gained worldwide recognition for his trash-talk and antics outside the ring.
Alvarez, on the other hand, is a model professional who prefers to focus on himself. He rarely indulges in rhetoric and will never take part in any shenanigans outside the squared circle. So, him choosing McGregor over Masvidal may surprise many in that sense.

Canelo Alvarez makes other surprising choices
The surprising choices did not end there. Alvarez went on to pick Anthony Joshua over Tyson Fury while also picking ‘Chicharito’ over Raul Jimenez.
Breaking away from his unpredictable picks, the Mexican chose the UFC over Soccer. Furthermore, he refused to choose between controversial YouTubers turned professional boxers, Logan Paul and Jake Paul. That was enough to reveal his opinion on their involvement in the sport. And if you were wondering, Canelo Alvarez is a dog person.
