In 2016, when retired and world champion boxer Laila Ali appeared on Family Feud hosted by Steve Harvey, the host entertained the idea of Laila Ali taking on then-UFC fighter Ronda Rousey. While Harvey indicated a potential contest between Rousey and Ali, Ali exposed the absurdity. In her reply to Harvey, ‘She Bee Stingin’, made a juxtaposition between Floyd Mayweather vs. Mike Tyson and Laila Ali vs. Ronda Rousey. As Harvey declared Rousey’s willingness to fight Ali, the boxer corrected Steve. In 2016, Rousey was still the face of the UFC. At that point, such debates and discussions were not unusual concerning Ronda Rousey.

So, it would never happen,” declared Ali. In the brief clip, as soon as Harvey spoke about Rousey vs. Ali, the boxer declared the following: “She didn’t say that. No, no, no, she did not say that. “The thing is that she is a professional UFC fighter [and] I was a professional boxer. Retired, I’m 38 years old, two children, so, we will never fight,” Ali added by saying. Ali mentioned not being in the same weight class as Rousey to strengthen her point.

Ali would never fight Rousey

Apart from being a retired boxer, Ali laid emphasis on age and weight difference against Rousey. While Ali was 38 and retired with two kids, she weighed over 60lbs heavier than Rousey in the ring. “We’re not even in a weight class that would match. I’m 185lbs, she fights at 130 or something. So, it would never happen,” said Ali regarding Rousey who offered major mom goals to mothers around the globe recently. With her statement, Ali dusted the idea of ever fighting Ronda Rousey.
