Why did Arnold Schwarzenegger and Shiver get divorced?

The couple first met back in August 1977 at a tennis tournament after being introduced by NBC’s Tom Brokaw. Following this, the pair started dating and tied the knot in 1986. They also have four children together, two sons and two daughters. However, Shiver filed for divorce back in 2011 after Schwarzenegger publically admitted that he had fathered another child with the family’s longtime housekeeper, Mildred Baena.

The divorce was finalized back in 2021, almost 10 years after Shiver filed it. The couple has since been on good terms with both stating that their children and family were their first priorities and that they won’t let their divorce interfere in the lives of their children.
