

Former world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, is one of the toughest people on the planet. And, very few people would actually expect to witness ‘Iron Mike’s soft side. However, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s wife, Maria Shriver, and Oprah Winfrey, once paved way for Tyson to do something completely unexpected.

Shriver and Winfrey have been friends for almost 40 years. Moreover, Shriver is a journalist who was also one of the first people in her family to become a newscaster. She also served as the first guest editor of Winfrey’s ‘O Magazine’. Shriver who is a poetry buff decided to produce a poetry-themed issue in 2011. In fact, the April issue of the magazine was in honor of National Poetry Month.

Talking about the project, Shriver said, “While a poem may bring us deep personal meaning, it becomes more meaningful when we share it with others. That is why we’re asking readers to submit their own cherished poems.”

Meanwhile, it was reported that some of Tyson’s poetry was also featured in the issue. Notably, the former champ is a passionate poet with a modest collection under his belt. And, it was also said that he shared a poem with ‘deep personal meaning’.

Tyson was not the only celeb who contributed to the issue. Hollywood stars like Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, and James were the other notable names on the list.

There is no denying that ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ loves to read. In fact, Tyson once revealed that he spent the majority of his time incarcerated reading.

Tyson was in conversation with comedian, Kevin Hart for the show, ‘Hart to Heart‘. In conversation, he mentioned how the only activity he did in prison was reading. Moreover, the former champ also stated that he used to read two to three books a day.

However, he added that he does not read as much anymore since he’s got a lot in his hands.
