Brandon Aiyuk is back in the headlines and it’s not an on-field dispute, but an off-field drama, again! Just when you think the San Francisco 49ers‘ WR would be out of the news cycle now after finally extending his contract with the team, Aiyuk proves it wrong. However, this time ex-Steeler Antonio Brown ridiculed the 26-year-old on social media for his ‘shorts drama’.

Brown shared a video of Aiyuk on his social media where the 49ers WR was seen showing his temper tantrums to head coach Kyle Shanahan. The former Super Bowl winner added a caption in his post where he trolled Aiyuk, saying he was trying to copy him but could never be him. Brown said, “BA is trying to be like AB, but nowhere near being like AB”.

What exactly happened? Well, nothing, apart from the fact that Aiyuk violated the training dress code when he wore the wrong colored shorts to train with his team on Friday. However, when Kyle Shanahan found out, he immediately asked the WR to change it. After a conversation for a couple of minutes that went back and forth, the video showed that the 26-year-old took his shoes off before pulling his pants down and trying to fling them to the other side of the field, showing a full-blown temper tantrum on the head coach. For a just bit, Aiyuk stood on the practice ground wearing his underwear before he finally put on the correct shorts.

The 26-year-old WR’s season till now hasn’t gone as you would expect from a player who recently signed a $120 million four-year contract extension. Aiyuk appeared in all three games for the 49ers this season but has failed to make a significant impact. So far, he has just 11 receptions on 20 targets, 119 yards, and zero touchdowns.

NFL Hall of Famer urges Brandon Aiyuk to take full responsibility for his slow start to the season

NFL Hall of Famer Steve Young has urged 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk to take full responsibility for his lackluster start to the new season. The Chiefs have won all three games they played since the start of the season, but Aiyuk failed to have any impact on those games.

In an interview with the Bay Area radio station KNBR, ex-49ers QB shared his concern over Aiyuk’s low production since the start of this season. Steve Young said, “In the end, the full measure of what’s happened, Brandon needs to own it. ‘I’ve come back, I missed camp, and now, it’s not happening. So I have to take that on myself.’ There’s no blame other than yourself. Own it. ‘It’s me. I’ll go fix it.'”

Last season, this WR was on fire. He had 1,342 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. However, Aiyuk’s slow start to this season was a bit expected as he missed the whole training camp, off-season program, and preseason due to a contract dispute with the team. However, the 49ers offense is plagued with injuries. Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel are both sidelined. Now is the time for this 26-year-old to step up and start performing per his new massive contract!
