The International Olympic Committee and the Japanese organizing committee had quite a task of rescheduling the Tokyo Olympics for 2021. According to reports, the IOC has reached a decision, and the Games will begin from July 23, 2021.

After a bit of reluctance on the IOC’s part, it became apparent that the Games could not go ahead this year as planned. The COVID-19 pandemic posed too great a risk for an event of this scale to go ahead. Additionally, multiple nations and athletes vowed to abstain from the games if they were held as per schedule.

The Championships will take place between June 28 and July 11.

The Olympic Games will last 16 days, unless there are some significant changes, meaning they will conclude on August 7.

This gives the tennis players enough time to recuperate and play at the US Open, which kick starts on August 30, 2021.
