When you are in the driver’s seat of the most iconic franchise in the NFL, absurd rumors are a common roadblock. This was what recently happened with the Dallas Cowboys‘ head coach, Brian Schottenheimer. An outrageous rumor targeted his family, and his wife, Gemmi, couldn’t help but take a sarcastic jab on social media.

“The secret is out, SMH,” wrote Gemmi in her recent Instagram story, sharing a fan post that claimed that she and Brian Schottenheimer recently welcomed twin children.
The post included photos of Brian and Gemmi Schottenheimer in a hospital, holding twin babies. The caption claimed that she became a mother at the age of 52, and there were no previous rumors or leaks regarding the pregnancy.
However, the picture appeared to be digitally altered, not an authentic picture. While Brian is currently 52, there is no credible public record confirming that Gemmi is also 52 years old. Given their relationship history and timeline, she could be either in her late 40s or early 50s.

Brian and Gemmi Schottenheimer walked down the aisle in 2002, so they have been married for 24 years. Although they don’t have twins, they do have two children from their marriage: one born in 2004 and another a year later in 2005.
Their eldest child is a son named Sutton Schottenheimer, who is currently 21 years old, and the second-born is a daughter named Savannah Schottenheimer, who is a year younger than Sutton. Both of them were regulars at Cowboys games last season since their father took the head coaching job.
Although it’s dubious what Sutton does, he garnered attention last year after his picture with the Kansas City Chiefs owner, Clark Hunt’s daughter, Ava Hunt, went viral. On the other hand, Savannah is currently studying at Auburn University. While the Schottenheimer family currently resides in Dallas, they are originally from Nashville, Tennessee.
In the meantime, Brian and Gemmi Schottenheimer weren’t the only figures from the NFL community to be the center of such a baseless pregnancy rumor.
Other NFL figures also faced viral personal rumors
The former Pittsburgh Steelers‘ Super Bowl-winning head coach, Mike Tomlin, stepped down from his role early this year. However, the decision somehow got linked to his alleged affair with a nurse.
An unverified X post claimed that he cheated on his wife, Kiya Tomlin, with a nurse, who was even expecting his child. However, the rumor was later debunked after a fact-check, and it was not related to his decision to leave the head coaching role in Pittsburgh after 19 years.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback, Jordan Love, married Ronika Stone in June, 2025. But about six months before their wedding, back when Stone was the quarterback’s fiancée, a bizarre pregnancy rumor circulated.

Unlike Gemmi Schottenheimer, who had a sarcastic response to the rumor, Stone flatly ruled out the rumor through her Instagram story, confirming she wasn’t pregnant, and her dog was her only child. As it turns out, the couple is actually expecting their first child this year, which they officially hinted at in January 2026 through Instagram.
