Boxer Scott Fitzgerald spent the night in jail. He was arrested for assault.

The unbeaten British boxer, Scott Fitzgerald took to social media to confirm this news. The alleged incident took place after the boxer was involved in a “kick-off” with his partner and her family. This resulted in 24-hour imprisonment.

Scott Fritzgerald on social media said, “Ta f*** da to the police station Twenty four hours in a cell, that’s some heavy s***. Yesterday I was arrested after a kick off with my ex-partner and her family.” These 24 hours in a cell might have just knocked some sense into the boxer.

To confirm the case a spokesperson from Lancashire Constabulary said, “A 28-year-old man from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of assault following an incident in the town. Inquiries are ongoing.”

Scott Fritzgerald’s arrest comes after his fellow fighter had his boxing license suspended for a similar incident. Billy Joe Saunders faced the suspension after he posted a video instructing men on how to hit their female partners during this pandemic lockdown.

The WBO super middleweight champ has since apologized and learned his lesson. He has pledged to donate 25,000 euros to multiple domestic violence charities. Saunders will also have to attend a hearing with the British Boxing Board of Control sometime in the near future.

Scott Fitzgerald’s last professional bout was against Ted Cheeseman. This took place in the month of October. Just before this, he ended Anthony Fowler’s unbeaten run to claim the British title.

Fitzgerald was supposed to contend this March. On the undercard of Scott Quigg vs Jono Carroll. He pulled out several weeks prior to the fight because he was unfit. He then checked himself into Tony Adams’ Sports Chance Clinic to get a grip on his alcohol and gambling addiction.
