Brooklyn Nets player Rodions Kurucs was arrested on Tuesday on allegations of the forward choking his then-girlfriend back in June.

Kurucs’ lawyer Alex Spiro, as reported by The New York Daily Mail, noted there are no photos of the alleged assault, and that the woman didn’t report the incident for nearly two months.

“As I understand it, self-reported injuries, judge,” Spiro said.

He added the then-couple flew to Las Vegas together the day after the alleged assault. They had dated for nine months and broken up days before she filed a criminal complaint, Spiro said.

Sources claim Kurucs screaming, “I am going to kill myself” before choking the woman, pushing her on the bed, slapping her in the face twice, biting her lip and injuring her ribs by picking her up and throwing her on the bed.

The Nets released a statement on the arrest where they did not intend to comment much until the investigation ends.
