Bruce Arians Revels in ‘First Football Win of the Year’ as Buccaneers Seal Super Bowl Berth

There was a lot of noise surrounding Bruce Arians-coached Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the build-up to the 2020 NFL season. The arrival of Tom Brady and other big names in Florida signaled the start of a new era for the Pirates.
Right from day one, the six-time Super Bowl winner was adamant to satisfy his hunger for another Championship ring. Fast-forward to January 2021, and Brady is just one step away from accomplishing his goal.
Brady was at the center of things as the Buccaneers made their way to a 5-point win against Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday. The veteran QB went 20 of 36, throwing for 280 yards with 3 passing TDs. It must be noted that he also threw 3 interceptions, all coming in the second half.

Despite a shaky display, coach Arians had no qualms about his players who helped book a slot in this year’s Super Bowl LV. This will be the first time that a team plays for a Lombardi Trophy on home soil. But, Arians insists ‘to play in the Super Bowl is not our goal, our goal is to win it.’

“We’ve been playing so good on the road (chuckles)… This was football for the first time this year for me. I mean the fans were great here, there was an unbelievable atmosphere. But to be able to come home and play the Super Bowl at our place, not having to get on a plane…it would be weird,” an elated Arians told the press.
He further said, “There are times when I thought it would never happen. I’d never thought I’d get an NFL head coach job. After the cancer scare in Arizona, sitting out that year and then coming back. This has been the most rewarding year of my coaching career.”

The Buccaneers have beaten three divisional champions en route to Super Bowl LV in the post-season. They will be prepared for either the Buffalo Bills or Kansas City Chiefs who will travel to Florida two weeks later in the ultimate season finale. Until then, the Buccaneers will look to recuperate and prepare for their toughest game of the season.
