The Motown Phenom just made a statement at MSG. It was a knockout that makes you uncomfortable for a while, but it also makes you appreciate how good of a fighter Kevin Lee is.

The fight started with Gregor Gillespie coming off with some beautiful jabs. A few seconds into the fight and Kevin Lee already has a cut near his eyes. But Lee was a different fighter this time. After training with one of the best coaches ever, Firas Zahabi the improvements in the game plan of Lee gas obvious. Usually, Lee comes out with all guns blazing from the get-go and gasses out as the fight goes into the later rounds. But not this time.

Kevin Lee was fighting with a low stance against Gillespie who is one of the most decorated wrestlers in UFC. Lee stopped a takedown for Gillespie but did not attempt one of his own. Both the fighters traded jabs for the most part until Kevin Lee explodes with a brutal right hand. Lee caught Gillespie a few times before the knockout. However, the right hand followed by a thundering head kick sent Gregor Gillespie into the cage. Gillespie was unconscious for a meaningful period. It was brutal.
