The crowd went crazy as the hometown hero, Randy Costa gets a knock out victory over Boston Salmon in the prelims of UFC on ESPN 6 card.

Randy Costa was coming from a devastating loss against Brandon Davis, needed to make a statement here in Boston and he did exactly the same. Costa made his UFC debut after four consecutive wins in Cage Titans. With four KO and TKO finishes, he was an exciting talent to look out for in UFC bantamweight. However, things fell apart when Brandon Davis submitted him, handing Costa the first loss of his career.

However, Costa did bounce back from his first loss with authority in the prelims of UFC Boston. In front of a rowdy crowd of Boston, Randy Costa came all guns blazing since the fight started. He completely outnumbered Boston Salmon with the number of strikes thrown, throwing 45 total strikes compared to 26 strikes from Salmon.

Though Salmon attempted a takedown as an alternative to striking, Costa was able to defend the takedown and get back to trade punches with his opponent. At 2 minutes 15 seconds of round number one, the fight was stopped.

Randy costa threw a powerful right-hand jab with great precision, which wabbled Boston Salmon. As Salmon was trying to create some distance while moving backward, Costa followed up with another powerful right-hand to seal the win. Although he did throw a few under hooks after that, those two right-hands were enough to get Randy Costa his first win in UFC.

With this victory, Randy Costa is now 1-1 in UFC and 5-1 in his MMA career and is likely to get a ranked opponent in his next fight. On the other hand, Boston Salmon has lost both of the fights in UFC since his debut.
