It was a close affair in the early parts and the American brothers broke late to capture the first set 7-5.

The Indo-Romanian pair broke twice in the second set to make it all square and then went on to take the third set in a thrilling tiebreaker.
After double faulting at match points and letting the match slip into another tiebreak, the pair finally came up with goods and wrapped up the match to create a huge upset.
The pair had previously triumphed at Stuttgart and looks solid to go all the way.

The team of veterans – Leander Paes and Martina Hingis- seeded seventh demolished the unseeded duo of Artem Sitak and Anastasia Rodionova 6-2, 6-2.
Some terrific reflexes at the net by Paes and some great baseline shots by Hingis powered them through to the next round.
