The second LIV Golf tournament is underway at the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, outside of Portland. Similar to the maiden event, this tournament too will be having no cuts with 54 holes.
Since the location of the tournament is closer to Portland, LIV Golf decided to make a positive impact on the fans. However, the fans didn’t welcome the move from the Saudi-backed Golf Tour.
LIV Golf’s big announcement
Whenever there is the announcement from LIV Tour, people tend to think it is regarding another player making the jump from PGA Tour to the Saudi-backed Tour. However, the latest announcement was about a donation made to the people of Portland.

The grant gives birth to the organization’s “LIV to Give” CSR initiative, which supports programs for golf development, environmental sustainability, and education, as well as the present and future well-being of communities.
Each beneficiary that receives funds will work alongside LIV Golf to ensure the programs deliver value to the local communities. It is truly a remarkable approach taken by the Tour. It will be great to see more positive initiatives taken by LIV Tour for society welfare in the future.
Twitter fans still unhappy with LIV Golf
Despite LIV Golf’s noble initiative, it still failed to win the hearts of fans. Many fans called out the Tour for buying fans, while many fans questioned the tour’s meager donation amount of just a million dollars, when it is already paying its players a nine figure contract.

LIV Golf still has a long way to go before they win the hearts of fans. Even though they managed to acquire the talent of the PGA Tour, they still need plenty of time to change the mindset of the fans.
Dustin Johnson is currently tied with Carlos Ortiz, leading the second event before heading to the third day. Brooks Koepka, who is making his LIV debut, also made a huge impact, currently positioned at the 5th rank.
