Henry Cejudo shocked fight fans around the globe as he announced his retirement at UFC 249.

This announcement came after he beat Dominick Cruz to retain his Bantamweight Title. Cejudo said that he had done enough inside the Octagon, and would like to leave on the top. Moreover, he added that he began at the age of 4, and would now like to finally hang up the gloves, and go back home to his new girlfriend.

This sent all the experts, fans, and athletes into a world of uncertainty. Many find it hard to digest that someone, let alone “Triple C“, would leave the game while they’re at the top. Cejudo has bested every challenge that has come up and has only improved his skills.

However, others also believe that his reasons for retiring are absolutely just and that he will not come back. Here is what Cejudo’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz had to say about the situation in an interview with TMZ Sports.

“I think Henry has been talking about retirement. Did I think Henry’s gonna retire? Absolutely not. I don’t think Henry’s gonna retire.”

Taking Khabib, the Lightweight Champion that he also manages, as an example, Ali said, “Khabib, right? Every time he fights, [he says], ‘I think I’m done’. Two weeks later, ‘who do you think I should fight next?’, right? [It’s] because these guys are in their prime. Henry started to come, now, in his prime. How are you gonna retire in your prime? And the pay-per-view did so well. And you gotta make some money!” If things [change] a little bit? Yes, of course!”

Is Ali Abdelaziz hinting at the comeback of Henry Cejudo?

Carrying on with the interview, Ali said,

“He just knocked out the greatest Bantamweight of all time. Dominick Cruz. What does that make you? The greatest Flyweight, the greatest bantamweight, and the greatest combatant of all time. And now, he [has] boxing superstars [calling him out]”.

“Basically, man, Henry has got everyone on their knees right now. I don’t think he’s gonna retire. You’re gonna see him fight by the summer. That’s just what I feel.”

A pretty convicted and bold statement from Henry’s manager himself, a person who manages a stable of great champions and fighters.

Do you think Ali Abdelaziz may be right about Henry’s retirement?
