The transition of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War into Warzone has been relatively smooth for Activision. Players have now adapted to the new weapons in the game and are slowly getting accustomed to its mechanics as well. However, the age-old problem of introducing new guns that are overpowered still persists. Now, according to several reports, Warzone is getting yet another map that will possibly arrive with the next update.

Recently, Warzone got a new map called ‘Rebirth Island’ in the Season 1 update for Black Ops Cold War. This map drew inspiration from the Alcatraz map but is also a little different. It was more like an extension of Alcatraz, which has its own separate identity. Now, reports suggest that a new map is on the cards and it was right under the players’ noses.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone getting exciting new maps

Popular Call of Duty YouTuber ‘TheGamingRevolution’ recently explained this in a video. He mentions that the Fireteam maps from Black Ops Cold War are the locations of the upcoming map in Warzone. This makes sense considering the Fireteam mode even has snow-clad regions, which was always rumored to be a part of the new Warzone map sometime in the future.

Take a look at the video below to understand what he means.

Apparently, the Ruka map from Fireteam was revealed to be a part of the new Warzone map, which further confirmed this theory (Time Stamp: 2:05). In addition to this, the video also mentions how the game will have swimming mechanics. This ensures the Black Ops Cold War’s influence on the gameplay. Furthermore, this Warzone map also consists of an unreleased Fireteam map called ‘Sanatorium’. The new map is pegged to arrive with the mid-season update.

The video also reveals some additional intel, which further confirms the arrival of the Ural Mountains map in Warzone. With this new map, Warzone will look to expand its player base even further in a bid to compete with the likes of PUBG and Fortnite.

The game already has more than 80 million players worldwide, and with the amount of content planned, Activision really has hit the jackpot with Warzone.
