Activision have announced the launch of the beta version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. They will roll out the beta in two phases. The first phase is the early access for those who have pre-ordered a digital copy of the game. These players will be able to access the beta starting on October 8. However, they will also conduct an open beta weekend available to all PS4 players from October 10-12.

Although the trailer for the beta revealed the game modes that will be available during the weekend, there weren’t many details accompanying the announcement. The modes consist of TDM, Domination, VIP escort, Kill Confirmed, and Combined Arms.

To provide some clarity over what more can players expect from the beta, Activision has recently released a blog post. The blog post details the pre-loading, downloading, schedule, and what they have included in the Cold War Beta.

What’s inside the Black Ops Cold War Beta

Apart from the already announced modes, there will be a lot more coming to the beta version. Similar to past Betas, the Black Ops Cold War one will also include a progression system where players can earn XP in order to unlock new content for their loadouts, including weapons, equipment, Create-a-Class slots, and Scorestreaks.

All players who reach Level 10 within the Beta will receive an SMG Weapon Blueprint at the launch of Black Ops Cold War. Activision have also promised to release frequent updates to the beta over the weekend to introduce additional content.
