Treyarch Studios has once again impressed fans with the work it has put in the content for Season 3 of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. The new season includes new maps, game modes, weapons, and a lot of Zombies content. It also includes interesting new operators for an immersive storyline.

One of the most exciting weapons coming to Black Ops Cold War in Season 3 is the Ballistic Knife. The knife sounds like a melee weapon. However, it is much more than that. Ballistic Knife is a versatile combat weapon that players can use in hand-to-hand combat as well as ranged combat.

Not only can players use the Ballistic Knife by sneaking up on enemies or as a melee weapon, but also launch it at them from a distance. Clearly, the weapon is a must-have for all Black Ops Cold War players. The only barrier that stands between players and the knife is the challenge.

Multiplayer challenge to unlock the Ballistic Knife in Black Ops Cold War

Players can unlock the knife in either the multiplayer mode of Black Ops Cold War or head over to the Zombies mode. The multiplayer challenge demands players to get the ‘One Shot One Kill‘ medal along with a melee kill in 15 different games.

This might sound like a mammoth task, especially since players will have to finish each game for the progress to count. Moreover, only one instance will count per game. However, with the arrival of Diesel, the new map, the Diesel Face Off 24/7 playlist is also available. This allows players to get over with games at a much quicker pace and complete the challenge within a couple of hours.

The best class to complete this challenge in the multiplayer mode of BOCW would be the ZRG sniper rifle along with a melee weapon. However, those who still don’t have the ZRG can use the LW3-Tundra as it has the second-highest damage in the game.

Zombies mode makes unlocking the knife much quicker

If players want the Ballistic Knife without playing so many games and spending all these hours, Black Ops Cold War Zombies is a much better option. The Zombies challenge demands players to get 300 kills with an epic or legendary special or melee weapon. Naturally, this already sounds like a much easier challenge than the multiplayer one.

Players can jump in a game of Zombies with the E-tool, preferably on the Die Maschine map. Players can salvage and upgrade their E-tool to the epic quality and head over to med-bay. Here, they can hop onto the gas tank and kill zombies as they head towards them.

The zombies’ challenge hardly takes a single game and 20-30 minutes to finish as players get the Ballistic Knife after they ensure 300 kills. Once they have the knife, players can try out all the different things they can do with the versatile weapon, as it proves to be a whole lot of fun.
