A major reason behind the success of Black Ops Cold War has been its Zombies gameplay. The new map, Die Maschine, along with a fresh storyline, has worked seemingly well with players. It’s only natural if Treyarch plans to increase the fun players are having by adding DLC.

Previously, fans had identified four new maps coming to Zombies as DLC. All of these will come as part of a new season starting with Season 2. The first in line is a location in Vietnam during the time of the Cold War to match the timeline. There is also a possibility of a Berlin map coming in one of the seasons.

Why won’t there be a Victis DLC pack in Black Ops Cold War Zombies?

The biggest reason behind the scrapping of the Victis maps is the abundance of content. With four new maps, the current DLC cycle already spans across the year. By the time it ends, Activision will already have a new Call of Duty title on its hands. Therefore, it won’t make any sense to push more DLCs for Black Ops Cold War.

Another major reason is the free-to-play nature of DLCs and the success of Modern Warfare and Warzone. Back in the day, Black Ops 3 got DLC updates even when Activision had released a new game. However, this was a compulsion for the studio as Infinite Warfare failed to perform. Therefore, the studio had to resort to DLCs which, at the time, weren’t free. This clearly isn’t the case with Black Ops Cold War on both counts.

While there were numerous leaks and reports hinting towards a remake of the TranZit map, Cold War is certainly not its home. The 2021 Call of Duty title might, however, see this much-awaited remake. There is also a possibility that it might come out as a Warzone map, but at the moment, these are all speculations.
