Call of Duty Warzone: Is AN-94 About to Be The New Meta?

The 5th Season of Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Warzone brought a lot of interesting new features and additions. Players have also found a blueprint for a legendary-tier weapon known as the Enigma Assault Rifle, in the locked room on the Executive Level of the Verdansk Stadium. Among the weapons introduced this season, there is one that is dominating the Call of Duty Warzone meta currently.

By now, this has become a pattern: there is a new gun that seems to provide an advantage, in terms of gameplay, because of its stats, and then it gets nerfed if the advantage is disproportionate. It was the Bruen MK9 before, and the Grau 5.56 before that.

Recently, for a brief period of time, we thought the CR-56 AMAX might take the spot. As it turns out, the AN-94 Assault Rifle is currently dominating the meta. And for good reason too, we’d say.

Is AN-94 really the best AR in Call of Duty Warzone right now?

The AN-94 makes a strong case with its negligible recoil and a high rate of fire, giving it the potential to deal heavy damage. It is one of the more stable guns in the game right now. For multiplayer matches, you need to unlock Tier 31 on your Battle Pass- both paid and free.

For medium to long-range damage, this gun has proven itself to be quite efficient. But for best results, you may want to use the following attachments:

Now, mind you, these attachments are meant to increase damage in mid to long-range. We are not saying it is ineffective in close range gunfights, but it is always better if you have close-range weapons handy. This gun is relatively new, so we should give it some more time to see if it saturates the gameplay meta. Currently, we’ll say it’s looking good.
