Activision has made the Call of Duty Modern Warfare community happy by stating the details of the upcoming Season 6 on its blog post. The season not only brings new maps, guns, and characters but also many new game modes. Additionally, the mid-season update will also bring a Halloween themed game mode!

The theme of the sixth season revolves around operators Nikolai and Farah. Activision teased the season with the following storyline.

After months of infighting between former allies, further fueled by the arrival of Shadow Company, the recently dispatched Nikolai and Farah make a game-changing discovery in the hunt for Al-Qatala: they use empty subway tunnels to move around the city without a trace. With a flip of a switch, the long-defunct transportation network powers up, bringing what’s left of Armistice back on track towards ending this dangerous international syndicate’s stranglehold on Verdansk.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare updates

New Maps

Infinity Ward have added four new maps to the game for all the available game modes. There is a new map for Gunfight, 6v6, 10v10, and a Ground War map. The new maps will be available to those who own the full version of the game.

The new Gunfight map called ‘Station’ features a “picturesque rural Kastovia train station serves as the backdrop.” Additionally, it also features military cargo trains and boxcars. There will be various other objects on the map to provide cover and angles to the players to make gunfights more interesting.

The maps coming to 6v6 and 10v10 core modes include ‘Broadcast’ and ‘Mialstor Tank Factory’. Broadcast, only coming to the 6v6 mode, made a cameo in Verdansk within the BCH TV station zone. However, the area is now finally coming to the game as a full-fledged Multiplayer map.

On the other hand, the larger of the two core Multiplayer maps, Mialstor Tank Factory, is built for both 6v6 and 10v10 play. This will change its playable dimensions, depending on the size of the lobby.

Finally, Infinity Ward has added a map called ‘Verdansk Riverside’ to Ground War Mode. A once-unlabeled landmark on the in-game Tac Map, Verdansk Riverside is a suburb that lies across the frozen Gora River.

New Game Modes in Call of Duty Modern Warfare

Developers have added four new game modes to Modern Warfare. Apart from these, there is also a Trial event as well as a new set of challenges. The most interesting of the new modes is a combination of Gun Game and TDM. Moreover, the other modes include ‘Killstreak Confirmed’, ‘HQ: Firefight’, and ‘Hardpoint: Hills and Kills’.

Completion of Season 6 challenges and events will reward players with new blueprints and other free items. The XP rewarded through all challenges, including Officer Challenge ribbons, will aid in maxing out players’ Officer Rank and earning this season’s max rank blueprint reward.
