Players always have a major headache at the sight of even a single hacker. But for Call of Duty Warzone players, hackers are a common sight that they have to endure in pretty much every match. Some loyal fans and content creators have also quit the game after the developer’s inability to solve this massive problem.
After YouTuber Vikkstar123 left the game in early 2021, Activision finally took some steps with a major account banning spree.

Call of Duty Warzone receives a second ban spree
After the first wave of bans, it looks like Activision is not letting up the pressure on hackers. The game got another a ban wave on Tuesday with over 30,000 accounts receiving the ax, according to PC Gamer.
The developers have already banned over 100,000 accounts in 2021 alone, which shows the effort Activision has been putting in to curb cheating. But the community definitely knows that if the game had some kind of anti-cheat software, then the players and the developers won’t have to suffer this much.

This tweet from developers Raven Software also suggests that this isn’t the end. The 100,000 banned accounts only scratch the surface of the player’s cause of headaches. Every lobby has multiple hackers and players constantly have to face them.
After the first massive ban spree where almost 60,000 accounts got banned, the game had a quiet period in terms of the hacker problem for a while. But recently, many fans complained the problem has crept up more grave than before.
The unreleased Soap skin hack

Recently, fans spotted the unreleased Modern Warfare skin of Soap MacTavish roaming around in Verdansk. Soap is one of the more iconic characters from the Call of Duty franchise, and some players were able to hack the game files which allowed them to play with it pre-release.
Warzone players have waited for a Soap operator bundle ever since the game launched last year.

It is rumored that a sizeable amount of the bans contained players who’d hacked the game to play with the unreleased skin. Even with all the bans, players are still waiting for that anti-cheat that can truly help the game become better. But it remains to be seen what Activision decides to in the upcoming months. Most likely, we won’t be getting such a system anytime soon, but we can hope to get one in Call of Duty 2021.
