Helicopters in Call of Duty: Warzone can be a major advantage and disadvantage for players. The popular Battle Royale title allows players to traverse through the vast map of Verdansk easily with these machines. But, players can also have a hard time defending themselves against squads gunning them down while flying above them. It’s quite a challenge for them to defeat it because it can also take a lot of damage.

But fans of the game rest assure because the community has finally found an answer to these annoying flying machines. A Reddit post on r/CODWarzone showcased the helicopter killing ability of the R1 Shadowhunter. The developers introduced the crossbow to Call of Duty Warzone and Black Ops Cold War during Season 2. But no one really knew about its skill against the helicopters of Verdansk. In the clip, players can notice that the bolt from the R1 Shadowhunter hit the heli, and it instantly exploded into pieces. Players should also know that they it can also destroy the team’s helicopter as well. So if players shoot a heli with their teammate then they will die in the fiery explosion as well.

Will it be patched?

It’s quite the advantage for the R1 Shadowhunter to have in Call of Duty: Warzone. But will the developers ever patch this trick of the weapon? As the R1 Shadowhunter is a crossbow, most players don’t even bother to use it even if they found it as ground loot. As it can only shoot one bolt at a time, players can’t really engage with short or medium targets. Along with that, it’s not great to use for long range compared to the sniper even with the amount of damage it is dealing.

It remains to be seen if Raven Software will tweak the R1 Shadowhunter and remove this ability. But until then, players can go on a rampage by destroying all helicopters flying over Verdansk.
