The destruction of Verdansk in Call of Duty Warzone Season 3 has also destroyed the previous burst meta. The AUG and the M16 no longer dominate the game as they did before. While the M16 is still decent, the AUG lost its throne to the AMAX. The long-range meta is now dominated by the AMAX, and every Warzone player makes sure they have a loadout before entering a game.

Given the AMAX’s versatility and fast time-to-kill (TTK), the developers promised they would be keeping a close eye on it. Therefore, there is a high chance Raven Software might nerf the current meta AR in Call of Duty Warzone. This makes players wonder which ARs are next in line to be the meta.

JGOD made a comprehensive list of the stats of all the ARs in Call of Duty Warzone. He compared the TTK, bullet velocity, damage, and rate of fire of all these weapons. Looking at these stats, players can prioritize what weapons to grind and level up as a standby if the AMAX receives a nerf.

RAM, XM4, and AK-47 Cold War are the best weapons to replace the AMAX in Call of Duty Warzone

The RAM in Warzone has the highest bullet velocity and the highest rate of fire in the game. With both these stats, it makes the RAM an ideal weapon to use in close to mid-range. Naturally, it takes a dip in damage, slowing down its TTK; however, if players ensure enough headshots, it can be a force to reckon with.

Next up is the XM4, a variant of the classic M4. The XM4 has the fastest TTK after the AMAX, given its high damage. Players don’t always have to rely on hitting headshots with the XM4 since it does far better than other guns when shot on limbs and chest as well. However, it has a slow rate of fire and bullet velocity. Therefore, even if it dominates in the mid to long-range, it is not ideal for close-range fights.

Finally, the AK-47 that arrived to Call of Duty Warzone from Black Ops Cold War is also an ideal choice. It follows in the footsteps of the XM4, with slight variations in stats, making it an ideal alternative, if not better than the XM4.

Players should start working on maxing out these weapons and making a call for each of them to ensure having viable alternatives if the AMAX ever gets a nerf in Call of Duty Warzone.
