Activision released the company’s second attempt at the Battle Royale genre with Call of Duty: Warzone almost 17 months ago. Back then, the developers had released the successful reboot of one of the biggest FPS franchises in Modern Warfare. Since then, they have also released another multiplayer title in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

The game’s third multiplayer following the arrival of Warzone will release later this year with Vanguard. The previous titles have had a lot of integration with the Battle Royale game, as the developers have added many weapons from the arsenal. However, recently, fans felt that the developers might have neglected the older title from the bunch.

Nerfed Modern Warfare weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone

Recently, a Reddit post on r/CODWarzone talked about the two weapon pools in the popular Call of Duty title. The game currently has a lot of issues such as rampant cheating, poor ground loot and many more. However, fans also believed that nerfs to older weapons have also caused some problems for players while fighting on the streets of Verdansk.

Many of them complained that the developers had massively nerfed weapons from the world of Modern Warfare. So players using these weapons for their loadouts have a massive disadvantage compared to opponents using Black Ops Cold War guns. This has caused a massive imbalance between the two weapon pools, and it seems like Modern Warfare guns will soon become irrelevant.

Superior Black Ops Cold War weapons in Verdansk

Along with that, fans have also claimed how the Black Ops Cold War weapons are miles better. Most of the game’s weapon variants have little to no recoil compared to Modern Warfare. Along with that, many of them also have better mobility, which forces players to use them. However, they would have to spend a lot of time leveling them on Warzone in modes like Plunder and many more for them to be feasible.

In the end, it seems like the developers at Raven Software have done a horrible job at keeping both weapon pools balanced. Call of Duty: Warzone has a lot of guns to choose from, and it’s imperative that they don’t diminish the older variants. With Vanguard set to release soon, the arsenal will only become bigger, and the developers can cause a massive mess if they nerf Black Ops Cold War weapons to force the players to favor the newer ones.
