Did Call of Duty Warzone Streamer Vikkstar Really Save the Game by Quitting?

Call of Duty Warzone had the worst possible start to 2021. Since its launch, the game became immensely popular, thanks to multiple elements. These make the game one of the best Battle Royale titles out there. However, within months players started noticing what was wrong with the Battle Royale game in the Call of Duty franchise.
There are tons of glitches and exploits in Warzone. Every week and a half, Raven Software has to release different bug fixes and balance changes. Either the devs are killing the game with poor development, or players are exploiting the glitches in every lobby. In addition, Warzone’s lag problem affects players repeatedly. Dr. DisRespect was also a victim of this issue recently.
“That dude didn’t even show his face on my screen. On the killcam he is way outside his truck, staring at me for a second and a half.[……..] All I saw was an elbow,” bellowed the Two-Time on his stream. Watch the incident in the video below.

Following this is the hacking issue. Cheating is nothing new for Call of Duty games. A franchise that is over a decade old, so popular and into Esports, knows what is lacking in its games. Nonetheless, Activision is very passive about the hacking issue. However, this was only until yesterday, when Call of Duty announced they had banned 60,000 players at once for hacking the game.
We have zero tolerance for cheaters across Call of Duty and Warzone.
60,000+ accounts have been banned today. Follow @RavenSoftware for more #Warzone updates.

What prompted this action from Call of Duty?
This sudden reaction from Activision towards hackers is co-incidentally close to another incident in the CoD community. Popular Warzone streamer Vikkstar recently quit the game. His reason for this was hackers ruining the experience in almost every lobby.

Considering Vikkstar’s influence in the community, his departure must have struck a chord inside Activision that prompted this action. However, this brings up the question: did Vikkstar save the game by quitting?

Well, while there is no right answer to this question, one can assume Activision will not sit around and watch other influencers leave. The biggest demand right now is that Activision gets a working anti-cheat in place so that hackers cannot rule every lobby.
The current system of manual detection of hackers is not working, and that is clearly visible from the video below. Vikkstar made this video, explaining to his viewers why he quit the game. In the video, he shows a classic example of the audacity that CoD hackers have these days. Here, the hacker did not even bother to hide his hacks, while livestreaming the match to an audience.

Will Activision learn from this and move on to place a functional anti-cheat, just like other popular multiplayer games? We hope so for its sake and for the survival of the game in the long run. Vikkstar’s fans might miss him on Verdansk, but someone had to take one for the team, so that the billion dollar company can get its act together and do what is expected of it.
