Legendary NFL footballer Calvin Johnson, in an interview with Sports Illustrated, made a shocking revelation about the use of drugs in the league during his playing days.

Saying that there was opioid abuse, he continued that almost all types of drugs were available in the training room.

“When I got to the league, [there] was opioid abuse,” Johnson was quoted as saying. “You really could go in the training room and get what you wanted. I can get Vicodin, I can get Oxy[contin]. It was too available. I used Percocet and stuff like that. And I did not like the way that made me feel. I had my preferred choice of medicine. Cannabis.”

Having been forced to apologise a few years back that he had misused the terms damage and concussion, Johnson admitted in the latest interview that  he used to get concussed during matches and the Lions wanted him to “change the story.”

“Bam, hit the ground real hard. I’m seeing stars; I can’t see straight,” he said. “But I know in a couple minutes I’m gonna be fine. Because I’ve done that plenty of times before.”

“I knew I was concussed because I blacked out. I wasn’t seeing straight. And they wanted me to change my story.” He said that he played through concussions in many games because that is how, according to Johnson, one would earn Employee of the Month in NFL.
