Kevin Durant may have a larger role to play in the 2020 drafts than he originally anticipated.

The 2020 NBA draft lottery is almost upon us, and is headlined by Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball, and James Wiseman. According to several mock drafts, Edwards is expected to be the first pick.

With the NBA draft lottery being held later today, the 6’5″ shooting guard from Georgia could very well end up with Warriors, Cavaliers, or the Timberwolves. He averaged 19.1 points, 5.2 boards, 2.8 assists in his college career. Despite having a field goal percentage of only 40.2%, scouts believe he is the best player in his class.

Kevin Durant is a special player, as Edwards said. KD’s skills, combined with his almost 7 feet stature, can make his defenders’ life miserable.  Durant missed the entire 2019-2020 season due to a ruptured Achilles injury he suffered in the 2019 NBA finals.

KD has joined forces with Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn to boost his case for becoming the GOAT. However, many fans still hold a grudge against him for leaving OKC to join the Warriors. Whether you love him or hate him, you cannot deny the fact that he is one of the best players of our generation. If he wins a ring or two with the Nets, maybe one day he could enter the argument for the GOAT.
