Recently at the French Open, Rafael Nadal beat rival World No. 1 Novak Djokovic 6-0 6-2 7-5 in a match that seemed pretty one-sided.

A couple of weeks after winning the Roland Garros final, Rafael Nadal ended up playing golf for a change. He appeared to enjoy himself at the Balearic Golf Championships.

The Spaniard showcased his skills in golf, which isn’t all that new to him. Besides tennis, Nadal has a liking for golf and football, and go is something he keeps engaging in from time to time.

“I like to play golf” – Rafael Nadal

Rafa had even considered switching to golf after a career-threatening injury in 2005, something he mentioned in his autobiography. He does have the ability to get things done with an attitude like his, be it golf or otherwise. Nadal is considered to be one of the greatest fighters in the sport.

Speaking recently on his long-time hobby of playing golf, Rafa said, “I like to play golf. I have been normally in amateur competitions.” Being ever so humble, he went on to say, “I think I can reach a level… to compete at a local level, but I don’t think I can become not even close to a good golfer.”

The 34-year-old Nadal took part in the three-day tournament in Llucmajor at his hometown, Mallorca. He did impress with his performance but fell 10 shots behind fellow Spaniard Sebastian Garcia. Rafa shares a good rapport with golfing legend, Tiger Woods. They have often exchanged pleasantries, complementing each other on their success. Woods was also spotted in Nadal’s box at the US Open last year.

The king of clay will pick his racket again for this week’s Rolex Paris Masters. With the likes of Novak and Thiem missing, Rafa might see this as his best chance to win his first-ever title at Bercy this year.
