Liverpool target, Carlos Bacca has confirmed in an interview with the Colombian Press that he would be moving to Serie A side, AC Milan some time in the close future. The buy-out clause for the Sevilla striker was set at €30 million, which is estimated to be met by the Milan side,
The 28-year-old had an extremely successful season with the Europa League winners, as he scored two goals in the finals against the Ukranian side Dnipro. He scored an overall of 20 goals in the league, at 27 overall, which diverted the attention of most European giants, most notably Liverpool and AC Milan.
Carlos Bacca was quoted saying to the Colombian press:
“It needs to be confirmed, but it is true – we’ve reached an agreement with Milan. My representative tells me they are the club with 100 per cent of the possibility [of signing me].”
Carlos Bacca’s agent Sergio Barila also confirmed and seconded his client’s statement, adding “I can confirm that Milan and the player have reached an agreement. Carlos has chosen the best for his future, it is normal to be happy.”
The player is known for his explosive ability in front of the goal, and his knack of finishing the ball perfectly into the net. The President of Sevilla FC had claimed that Bacca would become one of the stars in Spanish football. Although the player has been quite brilliant on a whole, he should improve upon his positioning as he often finds himself in the wrong or offside position.
The story of this Colombian national is nothing less of an inspiration, who when 20 was working as a bus driver’s assistant back at Puerto, Colombia. His story from rags to riches is a pure example of inspiration and ambition.
AC Milan hasn’t had the best of transfer windows yet, missing out on Jackson Martinez and Geoffrey Kondogbia, by a very slight margin. It is understood though, that Sevilla is keen to make the deal with AC Milan so as to avoid paying the buyout clause for tax reasons.
