Carlos Moya Explains Why Rafael Nadal is an “Easy Player to Coach”

Tennis is coming back in a month. In light of this, 19-time grand slam champion Rafael Nadal has started his preparations for its return. The sport was on the backseat as the coronavirus pandemic spread across the world and forced everyone to stay at home.
Rafael Nadal has been practicing in his home town Mallorca. As the lockdown restrictions have eased, he is back at the court practicing with his coach Carlos Moya.

“Rafael Nadal is always open to keep evolving” – Carlos Moya
Nadal has gone on Facebook live as part of his live event Get Rafa Moving. Here Rafa answers a few questions and then practiced and showed off his skills for the fans. Carlos Moya also joined the chat and talked about Rafa.
On being asked how it was to coach Rafa, Moya said that it was easy. Rafa is humble and is very eager and open to learning and evolving.

“He is a pretty easy player to coach. First, he is a very good player so that’s a good point for the coach. And he is very humble, he is always open to keep evolving and keep learning and it’s a pleasure for me to work with him,” Moya said.
Moya also spoke about the current scenario and how the lockdown has been on him and Rafa. He mentioned that it wasn’t easy but now they are back on track.
“Not easy. It’s never easy without playing for two months like he was. But now we are on the right path,” the coach said.

Carlos Moya has been with Nadal since 2016. and has helped him make a great comeback from his injury in 2017. Since 2017, Nadal has won five Grand Slams.

Nadal is eyeing for a good return after a disappointing 2020 Australian Open. He has some concerns regarding the calendar and the US Open. Time and again, Nadal has indicated that he might skip the US Open in favor of staying in Europe and competing in the French Open.
