Carmelo Anthony Gifts a New Car to a Woman in Baltimore

Portland Trail Blazers forward Carmelo Anthony became the reason for a smile on a mother’s face.

After the Trail Blazers’ last game against Minnesota Timberwolves, Anthony was seen talking about gifting the car.

“We partnered up and gave a car for the Holidays. We surprised a family who really needed it, and we made somebody’s holiday. We made a family happy, made some wishes come true. It’s a great feeling when you can do something like that and help a family out. It always put things in perspective when you see the impact that has on people.”

Anthony and his business partner in his company Melo7 came out with a new startup, Getacar- an online car-buying platform.

Taking pride in his latest business venture, Anthony said, “Gettacar stepped up to the challenge and they delivered.”

As per NBC Sports, Carmelo Anthony gifted a 2017 Mazda CX3 to a woman named Shalita Addison on Wednesday.

The woman was reported to have been struggling for commute after a recent car break-down. She is a big fan of Carmelo Anthony and her daughter is a college basketball player.

Shalita told Baltimore’s WMAR 2 News how grateful she was to be gifted a car and her daughter playing college Basketball.

“I’m so grateful. Sometimes you don’t think that prayer works, but raising her and then she gets a D1 scholarship, just the odds of that are just like, you know what I mean? It makes you just keep pursuing your dreams and sometimes everything doesn’t workout, but like they always will.”

Carmelo Anthony could be an All-Star for the 11th time

It is that time of the year when Basketball fans are looking forward to the NBA All-Star games. Over his long and illustrious career, Melo has been an NBA All-Star on 10 occasions. In the recently released vote count after the second round of 2020 NBA All-Star voting, Carmelo once again found a place, and quite unsurprisingly too given his popularity in the league over the years.
