Coming into the season, Carson Beck was one of the costliest NIL transfers. He was billed as a top QB and a first-round NFL Draft pick. However, he doesn’t carry the same hype anymore. Beck got hit with a reality check after facing a mid-season struggle, which led Miami to lose two of the last five games. This is turning out to be costly, not only in terms of CFP rankings but also in Beck’s NIL value.

According to On3’s NIL valuations, Carson Beck lost almost $1.8M NIL values in the last 5 weeks. Beck’s NIL value five weeks ago was at its peak with $4.9M; however, it’s now dropped to $3.1M, losing approximately 37% of his wealth. This downtrend is a result of Beck’s inconsistent mid-season performances.

The Canes’ QB started the 2025 season with a $4.3 million valuation, with the second most NIL, after Texas QB Arch Manning, who had $6.8 million. His consistent performance in the first three weeks added $400K to his pocket, making his NIL $4.7 million. The Canes QB had 20 of 30 passes for 205 yards and two TDs in a 27-24 win against Notre Dame. In the next two games, Beck had 22 of 24 passes for 267 yards against Bethune and attained 340 yards for 3 touchdowns against USF.

That didn’t end there. Beck’s dominant performance against Florida State, totalling 241 yards and 4 TDs, added $200K. This kept him close to the NIL leader Arch Manning, who was in a down trend due to inconsistent performance for the Longhorns.

Beck carried hopes of reaching the top, but his struggles returned. The Georgian transfer threw 4 interceptions, without a touchdown, for the first time this season, resulting in a 24-21 upset loss to Louisville. The first loss had a serious impact on Beck’s NIL, losing all the extra bonuses he had earned so far. Beck lost $700,000 in a single week, bringing his NIL back to $4.3 million.

The Hurricanes’ second loss this season against SMU by 26-20, took $387K from Beck’s capital, making it $3.9 million. It was the first time Carson Beck’s NIL went below $4 million since signing with Miami.

Carson Beck and the Hurricanes bounced back with a 38-10 win against Syracuse, yet Beck lost $730,000, making his NIL $3.1 million. Although Carson Beck threw 291 yards for 3 TDs in a 41-7 blowout win over NC State on Saturday, Miami’s QBs haven’t seen any raise, settling at $3.1 million. He now has the fifth-highest NIL value nationally, and fourth in college football.

ESPN hit Carson Beck with a reality check

Entering the last two weeks of the regular season, ESPN listed their Top 25 quarterbacks from the Power 4. Unfortunately, Miami’s QB Carson Beck fell outside the list, ranked No. 26. In the previous ranking, Beck was ranked No. 18. He also has 2,485 passing yards and 19 touchdowns with a 78.5 QBR. But his questionable decision-making (9 interceptions) and failing to live up to the hype ruled him out.

“I’ve always appreciated Beck’s willingness to make mistakes.” ESPN analyst Bill Connelly highlighted. “He makes tough throws and completes a lot of them (he’s behind only Sayin with his 73% completion rate), but the downside, of course, is the interceptions: He has thrown six in two Miami losses (and only three in seven wins). The Hurricanes still have solid odds of reaching 10-2 and, potentially, the CFP, though.”

Beck is currently projected to be the 99th overall pick in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft. This would keep him in the late third round. However, Beck’s performance in the remaining games will play a crucial role in his NFL Draft profile. No.13 Miami is scheduled to face Virginia Tech on Saturday, November 22, followed by Pittsburgh on November 29, with the playoff hopes hanging in the air.
