In an interesting turn of events Shakur Stevenson and his fiancée Young Lyric linked up with rapper Kevin Gates. The lightweight champ shared the pictures from the event on social media for his fans. In the Instagram post, both he and Lyric sported all-black outfits. Stevenson could even be seen hugging Gates in one of the pictures. However, it was the message that Stevenson tried to convey to his fans that caused the problem.
In the caption, Stevenson chose to write a message for doubters. He wrote, “Keep yo head up when told u won’t be nun”. It appears that even after receiving criticism for his poor performance in his last bout, Stevenson remains positive about his future prospects. He even shared a video of J. Cole sharing how to deal with false narratives about oneself. Overall, it appeared that he was trying to convey the message that he doesn’t care about the criticism surrounding his ability and is just focused on advancing forward. Unfortunately, the fans didn’t like this message from him as was evident from the comments.
