If everything turns out well, then the son of British boxing legend Chris Eubank Jr. could be back in the ring opposite archrival Conor Benn. Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn wants to put the long-pending bout back on track. Last year, Chris Eubank Jr. and Benn had a clash scheduled for October 8. But the latter’s failure to clear drug tests resulted in a postponement and an eventual cancellation.

Outside of training, in the meantime, Chris Eubank Jr. seems to be enjoying his downtime. He shared a photo that shows him standing alongside MMA legend Conor McGregor at a recent get-together on his X account, captioning the post, “One hell of a weekend.” But he might as well be looking at a bit of a letdown if he expected fans to appreciate the photo. While a few had something or another to say about Eubank Jr., some didn’t spare McGregor either.

A boxer and mixed martial artist connect

The following fan finds it disheartening that, as time passes, Eubank Jr.’s chances of becoming a world champion are also turning bleak.

Not sure whether it is loaded with a pun. But the following user pointed at McGregor. The former spotted an extraordinary former combat sports pioneer, tossing around Eubank Jr.

One fan thanked Chris Eubank Jr. He checked with him to see if he could ensure Conor Benn’s legal expenses are settled and that he finally receives his payday.

According to the following user, despite his age and experience, Chris Eubank Jr. still stands among the up-and-coming boxers who have yet to make a mark.

For the following fans, both Eubank Jr. and McGregor are two big-time good-for-nothing underachievers.

From some of the comments, it appears that Chris Eubank Jr.’s post hasn’t come at the most opportune time.

Chris Eubank Jr.: Through defeat to triumph

Chris Eubank Jr., commendably defying odds, displayed one of the finest comebacks of the year. Beginning this year, former world champion Liam Smith defeated him, scoring a fourth-round technical win. It was Eubank Jr.’s third professional defeat and also the first he suffered on account of an early stoppage. However, seven months later, during their rematch, ‘Next Gen’ proved that the January loss could have been a fluke, completely outboxing and outclassing Smith. Eubank Jr. scored an emphatic victory.

However, during the subsequent weeks, probably, his confidence got the better of him. Reportedly, he called out the undisputed Super Middleweight Champion and one of modern boxing’s ‘faces,’ Canelo Alvarez. Chris Eubank Sr.’s son turned 34 this September. Hence, time is not something he can count on. If he can win against Benn, then the next attempt could be for a world title.
