Eddie Hearn was supposed to have brought good news for fans. He had confirmed a December 23rd bout between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. However, the prospect faced a sudden twist when the potential clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk on the same date loomed large. Faced with this high-profile conflict, Hearn opted to pump the brakes on scheduling Benn vs. Eubank Jr. for December.

As Benn awaits the confirmation of a new date, he posted a picture of himself entering the ring in the getup of a gladiator. This is all it took for fans to get all hyped up.

Fans unable to contain excitement as Conor Benn cosplays as a Gladiator

Conor Benn embodies a relentless approach in the ring, characterized by high energy, quick combinations, and a powerful right hand. He often presses forward, applying constant pressure on his opponents, and showcases a strong offensive game. His speed and athleticism allow him to dart in and out quick as lightning. The allure of Benn vs. Eubank Jr. was initially rooted in the intense 1990s rivalry between their fathers, Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr. While Nigel actively supports his son, Eubank Sr. has been notably absent and critical, labeling the bout a farce and expressing concern for Benn’s safety. The initial catchweight agreement and Eubank Sr.’s disapproval added a layer of tension.

Strikingly, Eubank Sr. has diverted attention to his nephew’s career, seemingly out of spite. Despite the strained relationship, Benn desires Eubank Sr.’s presence in his son’s corner. “But you can’t be taking food out of your other son’s mouth. That’s wrong. Or trying to, or pushing that agenda.” For Benn, the significance of family is beyond boxing rivalries. He dismisses Eubank Sr.’s jibes and is surprised at how a father could question his son’s durability before a significant match.
