Terence Crawford has claimed his place in the history books. He’s pushed his name to the pinnacle of modern boxing after defeating the former unified champion of the welterweight division, Errol Spence Jr. Crawford has not only made his name known around the world but also he’s made his hometown proud after the remarkable victory. The Omaha native has become the first man to have been the undisputed champion in two different divisions in the four-belt era. More so, he’s also planning to face Canelo Alvarez on one condition next.
Anyway, to honor this incredible feat, the Omaha mayor, Jean Stothert announced a victory parade to be held in the city on August 12th. She said, “Let’s celebrate Terence together for his outstanding achievements as a world champion and coach and mentor to the youth at B & B Sports Academy.” The event was funded by the city’s sponsors and business partners. She also added, “The City is proud to create this event that honors [Terence Crawford]“.
After the conclusion of the victory parade, Crawford was gifted a piece of land for only $1 as a support for his charitable nature all throughout these years. Although he had already generated a gate revenue of $21 million from the Spence fight, it’s safe to say that this reward would mean a lot for ‘Bud’. Mainly because this just goes on to show how much love and respect he’s earned in the city of Omaha.
