Right now, the whole boxing world is in the midst of a massive debate as the talks of a potential bout between Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney seem to be intensifying by the day. The Two have a longstanding rivalry that went up a notch after Haney called out the Baltimorean after his victory over Regis Prograis. Ever since then, the two have been in an intense back-and-forth on social media.
This has also caused Tank to receive a lot of criticism from boxing fans. Many have questioned his ability to fight better opponents. Amid the doubts surrounding him, it seems that legendary boxing trainer Abel Sanchez still holds a high opinion of him.

Boxing trainer picks Gervonta Davis over other contemporaries
Recently, Abel Sanchez, in an interview with FightHub.com, was asked about his pick for the best among Haney, Shakur Stevenson, Davis, Garcia, and Rolly Romero. Sanchez claimed that Davis and Subriel Matías would fare better than the others. Not only that, he also believes that it would be an easy job for Davis to beat them. He claimed, “Shakur doesn’t have that kind of power like ‘Tank’ and neither does ‘Devin’ so those guys wouldn’t give Subriel a hard time. Ryan is too inexperienced to give him a hard time and Rolly’s too inexperienced and too small to give him a hard time.”
When the interviewer pointed out that people would say that Sanchez thinks that Davis is the best among them. He replied, “I think so, I think that he has what I would love to have in all my fighters. He’s got this rage, he’s got a Duran rage in my opinion and none of these guys have that.” He also added, “He’s got that lil’ pop, yes he’s a little short, but he’s got that Duran rage that he wants to hurt you, man.”
He pointed out that he has never seen Matias explode or say anything “mad or nasty as Gervonta does.” He claimed that not only Davis can trash talk but he can also back it up. The boxing trainer believes that other fighters are not on the same level as Davis. However, Bill Haney still strongly believes that Tank is ducking them.
Bill Haney gets blocked by Davis
Bill Haney recently claimed that Davis was dodging his son, despite the huge offers sent Davis’ way. In response, Davis took to social media to counter Bill’s remarks. This wasn’t the end of it. Davis’s actions further ignited a reaction from Bill Haney, who addressed the situation on an Instagram Live session.
Bill Haney says Gervonta Davis has now blocked him on Instagram: "I mention $20million and then get blocked."

During the live session, as fans tagged Davis repeatedly, Bill Haney advised them against it, stating, “Stop tagging Tank, he got me blocked. Yes, tag the face of boxing ‘Devin Haney’.” He expressed surprise over the block, especially considering his role in promoting a potential Haney-Davis bout, musing, “Yeah, he blocked me after $20 million. I mention 20 million and then get blocked. You know what time it is.”
