Three years after the demise of Roger Mayweather, the uncle of Floyd Mayweather, Malik Scott, trainer of Deontay Wilder took to Instagram and paid ‘Black Mamba’ a tribute. He uploaded a brief clip of Roger Mayweather fighting against Vinny Pazienza. In the said clip, Roger Mayweather demonstrated praiseworthy defence and countered his opponent with effective punches. Throughout the clip, he maintained a calm demeanour and footwork helping himself avoid shots.

On the 7th of November in 1988, Roger Mayweather squared off against Vinny Pazienza with the WBC World Super Lightweight title on the line. They fought for 12 rounds and Mayweather won the fight via UD. Undoubtedly, the clip Malik Scott shared impressed boxing fans. While some lauded Roger Mayweather’s ring IQ and skills, others observed his movements in detail.

The “super technical” late uncle of Floyd Mayweather evokes praise

The clip Malik Scott uploaded contained only a glimpse of the third round of the fight. In the clip, Roger Mayweather used the Philly Shell and used his long reach to keep Pazienza at bay. Although he stood close to Pazienza, Mayweather avoided some of the punches with ease. Here is what the fans are saying about it.
