For a while, it appeared like Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson would end up facing each other in the ring. However, fans were left disappointed after they failed to make a deal. Stevenson refused to agree on the 75-25 deal claiming he knows his worth. With his recent controversial victory over Vasyl Lomachenko, Haney had two choices -one was to move up in weight and face Prograis. Or face Stevenson who is his WBC mandatory.

It appears that ‘The Dream’ is now trying to finalize a deal with Regis Prograis. However recently, the duo ended up in a war. Instead of a ring, the battle took place on social media. During the exchange, Stevenson ended up sharing a video of Haney’s father/trainer Bill Haney discussing sparring between them.

He claimed that the video was four years old and that “we’ve never been at 130lbs, I was talking about him [Shakur].” He appeared furious as he stated, “Today I’m on Shakur’s a*s. He’s a fraud, he’s a fake. He’s around here recording motherf***ers.” Soon Haney Sr leaked a video of his own. The clip appears to feature Haney and the New Jersey native sparring. Moreover, Stevenson can be heard saying, “I’m tired” ending the sparring session. As the boxing world awaits ‘Sugar’ Stevenson’s reaction, the video is making rounds on the internet.

Fans stand with Shakur Stevenson as Bill Haney leaks the clip

As the video was shared by Michael Benson on Instagram, fans couldn’t help but come out in support of the Virginian. One fan sarcastically remarked that this could just be Stevenson getting tired after fighting in his “30th round of the day”.

Another fan questioned if, by Haney’s logic, the young boxer is “not allowed to be tired?” He further added that Haney should have added more context to the video. He claimed that details such as “how long they’ve been at the gym working or how many rounds they’ve been sparring” should’ve been added.

Someone else pointed out that this video doesn’t show if the 26-year-old hasn’t sparred with somebody else prior to the bout. He claimed that “Bill Haney tried to say this about Tank too.” Meanwhile, one fan remarked, “he was tired of whoopin dude.” He joked that Stevenson wanted a “better challenge.”

However, one fan believes that it seems like  Stevenson was “mocking Devin and not actually saying he’s tired”. Overall, fans showed a lot of support for Stevenson in response to the video.
