Despite their ongoing beef, Garcia and his De La Hoya appear to be in agreement at the moment. Ahead of Haney’s impressive victory over ‘Rougarou’ on Saturday night, Garcia publicly challenged Haney, and post the fight De La Hoya stated that he would actively work to make the fight a reality. With Haney now holding the WBC junior welterweight title, he is  further contemplating a potential move up to 147.  The situation remains uncertain, and the outcome is yet to unfold.

In a humorous anecdote, he received a message from Oscar a day before the fight, and to his surprise, he wished him luck, saying, “Good luck, do your thing.” Contrastingly, when he checked the previous messages, he realized their earlier exchange was not exactly friendly. “I told him to f**k off,” said Haney. It was a funny situation, but he expressed his gratitude and thanked him for his well-wishes.’

How much did Haney make from the fight?

In addition to enhancing his professional record, Devin Haney’s victory over Lomachenko also significantly boosted his financial gains. Reports indicate that the California-based boxer secured a guaranteed payment of an impressive $4 million for the bout. However, his overall earnings from the fight are believed to be even higher.
