Hours before the fight, Benavidez was asked the reason behind his ‘volume punching power’ in an interview with ESNEWS. Benavidez is known for throwing a lot of punches with a barrage of combos, so the reporter was curious to know about his stamina. Benavidez simply stated that it was all because of his training.
He said, “It comes from hard work. Like I said, three months training camp, running a lot. And also just trying to push myself to do that.” Then he continued to talk about his inspiration behind all of this. He revealed, “Because one of my favorite fighters is Pacquiao and that’s the type of excitement I want to bring.”
Benavidez loved the way Pacquiao used to fight, and he wants to emulate it in his fights as well. He added, “So that’s the type of role model that I follow, so I wanna be as exciting as Pacquiao and I worked hard. I know I’m not gonna get tired, I did everything correct, so let’s go, get it now.”
So, Benavidez is ready to take on Demetrius Andrade in just some time. He seems to have prepared for his opponent quite well. At the same time, Andrade has also declared that he’ll be getting inside the ring to fight with the same vigor.
