The bout between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois was an anticipated event as Usyk defended his unified status in the heavyweight division. However, what would have been an outstanding bout, was besmirched and the result became controversial which caused waves of debate among fans. However, that wasn’t the only thing in the event that raised a lot of eyebrows. Anthony Yigit, who endured a brutal bout against Denys Berinchyk also ended up suffering injuries.
Yigit received many injuries during the match-up, however, the boxer was apparently shown no regard or concern by the promotions. Understandably, he was livid as he recounted what took place after his defeat. Yigit suffered a cut over his left eyebrow and had serious swelling around both eyes. The boxer shared the story on social media to his followers. He said that even though he needed to get his eyes stitched, they didn’t have the tools on site.
Moreover, he wasn’t taken to hospital as his injuries weren’t life-threatening. He revealed that it had “been 4 hours with an open cut on my eyebrows.” Finally after “a lot of fighting” he was taken to the hospital and the fighter said that they just “dumped” him there. The fighter felt a lot of resentment due to such a treatment. He stated that he was outside the hospital without any ride while recording the video. He questioned K2 Promotions, “I’m just lucky I didn’t get a cut like Badou Jack. What’s going to happen then?”

Notably, both he and Usyk belong to the same promotion. One fan stated that it was “cool” that the boxer, “put on a show” and risked his health but got “kicked to the curb.” He stated that such behavior is not fine writing, “That’s just not cool.”

Another fan added that the promotion should not be allowed to treat their fighter like that. He wrote, “Promoter should be arrested.” He also added that “there is a duty of care in the contract”. Moreover, he added that if there isn’t one, “the fighter should insist on one.”
Very very bad, should be illegal. Promoter should be arrested. Surely there is a duty of care in the contract Mark, if not the fighter should insist on one.
