Shamar Canal vs. Jose Antonio Meza: Stats and physical attributes

Shamar Canal is 20 years old and an orthodox boxer. As of now, he has had a total of only 6 fights in professional boxing. However, undefeated in the sport, the 20-year-old has won 66.67% which is to say 4 of his matches via KO in the ring. In his last fight, he weighed in at 134½  lbs. and faced Cristian Macias. And despite weighing 5 lbs. less than Macias, Canal, who stands 5′ 6″ tall, won the contest via a 2nd-round TKO.

On the other hand, Jose Antonio Meza is 27 years old and also an orthodox boxer in the ring. As of now, unlike Canal, Meza has already fought 17 fights. However, besides winning 8 fights, the Mexican boxer has also lost 8 fights since he turned pro. Meza’s last fight was in the Super Featherweight division and he weighed in at 132¼ lbs. to face Leonardo Padilla.

Unfortunately, Meza vs. Padilla was declared a “no decision/no contest” since both boxers were disqualified at the end of round 4. Anyway, Meza, who has fought on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs. Caleb Plant, is 5′ 11″  tall and has a reach of 74″. Hence, by being five inches taller than Canal, the Mexican boxer will enjoy a certain advantage on December 9.
