The Heavyweight division of boxing is currently not in the best state, whereas the other divisions seem to have left it behind in terms of the number of talents, big names, and activity. The once representative of the sport is now being overshadowed by the divisions below it. Even the Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua bout is not getting as much hype as it could have.

Moreover, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk‘s bout which could have been the biggest fight of the year fell apart leaving fans with immense disappointment. However, Fury is now back again, this time he is looking forward to having his first fight of the year against Francis Ngannou. Here’s what his rival has to say about the upcoming match-up.

Deontay Wilder shares his thoughts about Fury-Ngannou bout

Wilder and Fury have a long history filled with bitter rivalry as they went toe-to-toe against one another three times. However, the result stood in Fury’s favor with the first bout being a draw and other two victories in the bag. Thus it was certainly interesting what he had to say about the bout. Fury has been hinting at this fight ever since his fight against Dillian Whyte back in April 2022.

However, the bout which is going to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on October, 28 this year seems to have not interested ‘the Bronze Bomber’. In an interview with ES NEWS, he shared that he is not interested in the bout due to its very nature. He added, “Probably not. I think I will be bored. I just feel like it’s gonna be boring, a lot of acting, a lot of stuff going on.” Then he also added, “The heavyweight division has been f***ing dead.

Wilder himself is preparing for a bout against Anthony Joshua, who recently won the bout against Robert Helenius. He remains not interested in the debut bout of the former UFC champion. On the other hand, the boxing legend has high hopes for this fight, as he took up the mantle to train Ngannou himself.

Even though the bout is receiving a whole lot of criticism from a lot of fans, there are certainly a lot of eyes focusing on it. Both fighters have stood at the pinnacle of their respective sports. The bout is even billed as a battle for the title of “the Baddest Man on the Planet”. What’s more, is that Mike Tyson himself is training Ngannou for the fight.

Though Fury claims that it doesn’t matter if the MMA fighter gets trained by Tyson, Muhammad Ali, or even Bruce Lee, his fate is getting knocked out come October. Not only that during a recent episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, the boxing legend praised ‘The Predator’ for his tenacity and determination.
