Of late, Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney caught the attention of boxing fans as they revealed startling information about a sparring match they had in the presence of Floyd Mayweather. While ‘Tank’ claimed he pretty much knocked out ‘The Dream’, Haney argued that Gervonta was lying.
In this context, Bill Haney, the father of Devin, has now boldly claimed that Devin is head and shoulders above ‘Tank’. Additionally, to support his argument, Bill alluded to the sparring match between ‘Tank’ and Devin where he thought ‘The Dream’ punished Gervonta well. Well, here is why Bill believes Gervonta Davis, the so-called “former face of boxing” cannot ever defeat Haney.

Bill Haney belittles Gervonta Davis
Recently, Gervonta Davis converted to Islam and changed his name to Abdul Wahid. Likewise, in his recent appearance on the Porter Way Podcast, Bill Haney referred to ‘Tank’ as Abdul Wahid as he belittled the boxer’s abilities. According to Bill, he initially thought Wahid could put his son Devin in a fix. However, as he witnessed Gervonta’s latest fights, he claimed he was convinced that ‘Tank’ was no longer a match for ‘The Dream’.
Bill Haney: “I would of thought the toughest task(For Devin) would be the former face of boxing, Abdul Wahid….but the more that I watch him, the less confidence I see in the kid. The kid is built up and manufactured against slow foot Mexican fighters. He’s never fought anyone… pic.twitter.com/fp2NrF5ww3

“Initially, I would have thought the toughest task would be the former face of boxing, Abdul Wahid. Initially, I would have said that. But, the more that I watch him, the less confidence I see in the kid,” stated Bill. In his opinion, Davis is trained only to deal with Mexican boxers with questionable footwork in the ring. Likewise, he added, “The kid is built up and manufactured against slow-foot Mexican fighters. He’s never fought anyone that resembles Devin.”
In this connection, Bill also referred to the Dog-House sparring match between Davis and Devin. Although Davis announced he almost knocked out Haney, the latter denied the claim. In doing so, ‘The Dream’ stated that he beat up ‘Tank’ good. Similarly, echoing his son, Bill concluded, “The last time we were in the ring together, he [Davis] got cooked.” However, it is worth mentioning that ‘Tank’ recently claimed he would make Bill Haney shed tears.
