At the recent press conference of Devin Haney vs. Regis Prograis, things got heated up when the two fighters exchanged words. In light of this incident, Evins Tobler, coach of Prograis became the talk of the town as he recently roasted Haney. Ahead of the fight scheduled for December 9, Tobler, mocking ‘The Dream’, stated that Progrias would hit Haney so hard that the Undisputed Lightweight champion would wish his father Bill Haney rescued him.
Undoubtedly, the comment came to Devin’s notice, and ‘The Dream’ claimed Tobler scarcely believed in Prograis. At this, while the boxing world showed interest in Tobler’s beef with Haney, Tobler revealed where it all started. In addition, he stated Team Prograis was ahead of Team Haney.

Coach of Regis Prograis would not let it be Devin Haney’s show
According to Evins Tobler, Haney’s team wanted to disrespect Regis Prograis at the press conference. In his opinion, they wanted to make the conference ‘The Devin Haney Show’ by placing ‘The Dream’ above Prograis. However, since Prograis is the title holder at 140 lbs where the bout would take place, Tobler thought it was only fair that they paid ‘Rougarou’ his due respect. Likewise, he thought it was appropriate if the first words at the press conference were spoken by Haney.
“This is the mental part of the game. We got Devin Haney who is a champion at 135. We got Regis Prograis who is the champion at 140. Devin Haney is trying to take the belt. Any champion that I know, they don’t do anything first. [So], I told Regis that they may try to make you speak first because they want people to think this is Devin Haney’s show,” said Tobler.
“I knew I was already ahead of the game,” he added. However, after Eddie Hearn insisted that Evins spoke first, the latter refused. At this, as Bill Haney, father of Devin claimed Team Prograis “got invited,” it infuriated Evins. “How the f**k you gon’ invite the champion? You were invited ’cause you are the challenger. That’s where it started,” explained Tobler.
Well, as Tobler explained, this is where his beef with Devin Haney started which led him to call the 135 lbs division weak.

Tobler brutally criticized the 135 lbs division where Haney is a champ
Soon after the heated press conference, Evins Tobler took to X and insulted Haney. Publicly, he claimed that at his natural weight, Gervonta Davis would defeat ‘The Dream.’ In addition, he brutally ridiculed the Lightweight division where Haney is the Undisputed champion. According to him, after Prograis defeats Haney in December, ‘The Dream’ would crawl back to Lightweight which is “fragile.”
