Ryan Garcia vs. Oscar Duarte: Up with weighty issues
As if it were a bolt from the blue to many. Some questioned the relevance. Garcia still lost the match to Davis. A few appeared curious about whether, at a higher weight dispensation, he would fight high-caliber boxers.
The following user is utterly surprised that the Ryan Garcia-Oscar Duarte fight is taking place at a catchweight!
This shit was at a catch!? I didn’t even know this lol.

However, the following user seems almost certain that Garcia isn’t strong enough to compete at 147 pounds. Questioning his technique, the user highlighted that ‘KingRy’ has already been dropped and stopped at 135 pounds. Whether he would be able to square up against boxers like Jaron Ennis or Terence Crawford, who incidentally plans to move up at 154 pounds, the user wondered.
I don’t think he can compete at 147. Dude has to many flaws, and has already been dropped at 135, and stoped at 135. Do you really think he can compete against the top boy in @JaronEnnis? Not to mention @terencecrawford who will probably move up to 154 pounds.

Toeing almost similar lines, this follower mentioned that it’s funny how so many believe that Gervonta Davis defeated Garcia because of the rehydration clause and catchweight. That is until they figured out that it was the Californian who requested a catchweight since he was too heavy for 135 pounds. Anyhow, both were obliged to adhere to the rehydration provisions.
The fact people think Tank beat this man because of catchweights and rehydration clauses is hilarious. Especially when they realize that this man is the one who asked for a catchweight because he was to big for 135. Both had to abide by the rehydration clause also this says a lot

This user also suggested that Ryan Garcia keep out of Jaron Ennis’ way. Otherwise, before taking up guys like Keith Thurman, Jessie Vargas, or Mario Barrios at 147 pounds, he should first fight at least three to four bouts at 140 pounds.
He needs to ease into 147, I think he should have 3-4 fights at 140 then fight Keith Thurman, Jessie Vargas or Mario barrios at 147… stay away from boots ennis

Taken aback by the 143-pound catchweight, this user feels that Ryan Garcia and his boxing career are nothing short of a total farce.
143lb catch weight? Dude is a complete joke along with his boxing career.

Anyway, whatever the condition, fans will be looking forward to Ryan Garcia’s return to his good old winning ways. Either at 140 pounds or a division higher, it’s high time for him to forge a legacy.

The sooner it halts, the better it will be
But first, it starts with winning a world title. As of now, that appears distant. Even if he triumphs against Duarte tonight, Garcia will have to get across a battery of strong contenders to stake a claim at a belt. Literally, he is fighting a war on two fronts—one in the ring and the other outside, or rather inside—as he goes against his promoters, Oscar De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins. A bird’s-eye view might reveal that he should be able to deal when it comes to boxing. However, settling the differences within the team is a long and winding process. There are a lot of people who genuinely hope that this public feud will stop soon.
